A wrap is a large vinyl graphic or decal. It is applied directly over the paint of the vehicle. The application of the wrap allows you to enhance the vehicle’s appearance in a short period of time with the possibility of returning the vehicle back to its original condition if maintained properly
Anything less than a full wrap is normally called a “partial wrap”. A half partial wrap, includes the entire rear of the vehicle and halfway up the vehicle. A three-quarters partial wrap includes the entire rear of the vehicle and most of the way up the vehicle. A full wrap includes the entire vehicle.
If you are using your vehicle wrap as signage, there is no more cost-effective advertising method available. It has been proven that the cost of Wrapping is less than other forms of advertising such as billboards, television, radio, and yellow pages. If you are using your vehicle wrap to enhance the look of your vehicle, vehicle wrap results are outstanding and simply cannot be compared to traditional methods like paint or airbrushing.
All work undertaken is under the condition that a complete, high-resolution file is supplied, complete with a colour proof, Pantone references and purchase order with the exact specification. Where artwork is supplied by the client, it is the responsibility of the client to ensure the artwork is in a “print ready” format. It is the responsibility of the client’s designer to check the dimensions and layout of the actual vehicle(s).
Proofs are created on a flat surface and viewed at a relatively tiny size on computer screens and 8 inch printed paper. In cases of curves, handles, deep grooves, rubber moldings/trim, on-the-spot adjustments may be made by the installer to assure maximum readability or alignment. In many cases there are slight differences between the printed flat paper proof and the 3-dimensional curved vehicle wrap.
Where NSC provides the artwork, it is essential the client fully checks the final proof with the actual vehicle to check for any variations (i.e. style of lights, positioning of number plates and other major (number of doors, etc.) or minor variations.
The accuracy of the templates provided has a margin of error of a few inches. It is recommended that designers design vehicle wraps with this in mind, avoiding the extreme edges of the wrap with vital information. Measurement of the vehicle is always recommended. See our artwork guide for more detailed advice and information.
It is the responsibility of the client to provide or purchase quality, high resolution pictures for large format printing. NSC will not be held responsible for low resolution images provided by the client for printing.
It is not reasonable to expect an inkjet printed vinyl wrap to cover and look exactly like paint or in all the same places look exactly the same. A piece of vinyl has limits and can only stretch so much before it changes colour. In many cases, a relief cut has to be made into the vinyl that will reveal a small amount of the original vehicles paint colour under the vinyl. In some cases a patch needs to be installed to conceal the vehicle’s original colour. It is the only option. Areas under door handles, mirrors, behind gas caps, and inside door frames will not be wrapped. If we wrap extreme curved surfaces such as mirrors and bumpers they may reveal the original paint colour at the tight edges of the wrap. It has more to do with material limitations and not install quality.
Some vehicles have body indents (i.e. Hummers) and since we cannot stretch the vinyl more than ¼”, we are forced to cut the vinyl and cover only the areas that are viewed from a straight-on view of the vehicle. Areas around door handles, mirrors, door locks, wiper motors, antenna, roof racks, etc. are very difficult to make look perfect, and it is very common to cut the vinyl around these areas and piece in the extra vinyl to cover the extra body areas that the vinyl could not cover.
Due to the fact that a two dimensional print is being applied to a three dimensional vehicle and due to the minor variances in the accuracy of the templates. The positioning of a vehicle wrap can vary from the proof by several inches throughout the entire length of a vehicle wrap. This is normal and wraps need to be designed with this in mind.
You can expect that the vinyl could have small wrinkles and bubbles and minor imperfections. You need to understand that this is not paint. If you expect a perfect vehicle graphic that is flawless, then an airbrush paint job is the best way to proceed.
When TSC receives original logos or Art we will not modify the colour or design, because it may cause unacceptable errors. TSC will not be held responsible for any design layouts provided by the client. All original art must come to TBD Vehicle Wraps ready to print. There will be a design fee for any changes made to client supplied art or layout. Design fee is $75.00 per hour.
A compound curve is a part of the vehicle that has two surfaces going in two different directions, all compound curves require us to stretch the vinyl or piece in the vinyl to cover these areas. This can sometimes cause problems with the graphics. To prevent these problems, it is best to use a generic graphic background in these areas.
In the case where a third party design firm is involved on behalf of the client, TSC will consult and advise the third party design firm as part of the TSC work order agreement, free of charge as long as TSC performs the printing and installation. The client will be responsible for all TBD Vehicle Wraps consultation fees, if the client decides to take the project else ware for printing and installation.
Wraps installed on vertical surfaces are covered for material and manufacturing faults for a period of 5 years (60 months) and for 1 year (12 months) when installed on horizontal surfaces. In the event the product or service provided is defective due to a manufacturing fault we will replace, or repair (where possible and desirable) the faulty product. The warranty period begins from the date of purchase/ installation.
There may be some crossover where vertical installations transition into horizontal and vice versa. This may affect the applicable warranty period and will be assessed on a case by case basis.
Nu Skin Customs (NSC) installers are highly experienced and certified installers. In the event the product or service provided is defective due to poor workmanship we will replace, or repair (where possible and desirable) the faulty product.
The warranty covers faults caused by incorrect installation by NSC for 12 months from date of installation. The warranty period is limited to 12 months because we cannot take responsibility for faults caused by poor or inadequate maintenance or other mistreatment of the wrap outside of our control.
NSC uses premium quality products and warrant that these will be free from the defects including:
Physical Defects or damage incurred during manufacturing, packaging or shipping.
Manufacturing Defects that affect the visual appearance, adhesion performance and wrap durability as described in the manufacturers’ technical documentation.
Finished Appearance Defects such as excessive or abnormal fading, discoloration, cracking, crazing, peeling, blistering, or loss of adhesion that causes the wrap to be visibly impaired when viewed in a typical environment and from a normal distance.
This warranty does not cover wraps or products that have been modified or damaged in any way through neglect, improper storage or misuse. We cannot be held liable for accidental or deliberate damage caused by abuse, accident, vandalism, neglect or mishandling by any person.
A certain amount of material degradation over time is normal. NSC cannot be held liable for damage caused by normal wear and tear or due to the impacts of weathering. NSC warrants that under normal circumstances the wrap will retain a commercially acceptable condition throughout the warranty period.
It is expected that the end user of the wrap will follow the recommended handling and cleaning procedures as outlined in the wrap care guide. The use of aggressive chemicals or abrasive mechanical washing may cause premature lifting of the wrap edges and may affect the appearance. NSC cannot be held liable for faults caused by failure to follow appropriate care and maintenance instructions.
Failure to follow the maintenance steps below may void your warranty:
Do not wash the vehicle for the first 5 days after installation.
We recommend hand washing for the best results; use only manufacturer approved cleaners or similar. Avoid aggressive rubbing. Rinse well and immediately dry the wrap with a soft cloth.
We do not recommend using automated car was systems. If you do you need to ensure that you use a brushless car washing system. Do not use petroleum-based waxes.
Keeping your vehicle undercover and protected from the weather when not in use will prolong your wrap’s appearance.
Reasonable fading or normal wear and tear due to time or weather.
Damage including abrasion, scratching, fading or loss of sheen due to aggressive cleaning or the use of non-recommended cleaning methods such as wax or other solvent containing products.
Intentional or accidental damage such as graffiti or picking at the edges; animal scratches or animal waste products; severe weather, such as hail or windblown debris; spotting caused by hard water; pitting or scratching from normal road spray; off road driving; excessive exposure to salt that is not regularly and promptly cleaned off; or vehicle damage that results in wrap damage.
Damage (including paint adhesion failure or rust) to any substrate or finish that is not of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) quality whether they be original or refinished substrates. This includes but is not limited to motor vehicles and watercraft.
Pre-existing damage to any substrate or finish application e.g. stone chips, and scratches.
Installation on inappropriate substrates or for applications where the wrap is not recommended.
Damage to the vehicle during wrap removal. Professional wrap removal is recommended.
Any difference or change in appearance between the exposed paint colour or finish and any areas that have been covered by the wrap that become apparent when the wrap is removed.
Transfer of warranty to a new owner of the vehicle.
In the event of an approved warranty claim, any replacement wrap or product shall be covered only by the remaining term of the original warranty period.
Any claim for a product covered by this warranty must be made before the last day of the applicable warranty period. NSC will not be liable for the cost of the vehicle owner’s time, inconvenience, rental of a substitute vehicle, or any other cost that may arise as the result of or in the course of a warranty claim.
NSC reserves the right to reject any claim where we cannot identify a specific cause of failure or where the failure is due to any of the exclusions listed above or if it cannot be proven that the wrap was purchased and installed by NSC.
NSC reserves the right to investigate and perform extensive testing before approving any warranty claims. NSC also reserves the right to request any or all items it requires (including information or documentation) to carry out any such warranty investigation.
The use of any 3rd party materials in conjunction with NSC will void any applicable warranty. e.g. A third party laminate used over a NSC wrap.
NSC shall not be liable or in any way held responsible for any incidental or consequential economic or property damage, except where NSC is in breach of the guarantees provided under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 or other such applicable legislation.
To make a claim please contact NSC at 76 Eleventh Ave Millfield NSW 2325, by Telephone 0402 997 864 or by email: nu.skin.customs@outlook.com
NSC reserves the right to change and update the terms and conditions of this warranty without notice.
This warranty is in addition to the rights granted the consumer under the applicable Australian Consumer Guarantee legislation. Nothing in this warranty is intended to negate or exclude those rights.
We also provide a 5 or 10 Year Warranty on all our Paint Protection Films. The warranty period is dependent on the material type chosen.
NSC warrants the film against defects such as yellowing, peeling, cracking or lifting and will replace any area of film that does not meet these criteria for the duration of the warranty.
The warranty excludes damage to PPF caused by accidents, collisions, intentional misuse, ordinary wear and tear or the use of products or cleaners not recommended for use on PPF.
